Только начал читать "Чёрный георгин", на трёх страницах словарь составил сразу кучу незнакомых терминов. Вот к примеру:

Вначале я подумал, что это какой-то инструмент, который служил холодным оружием морякам, усроившим драку в Лос-Анжелесе “...soldiers, sailors and marines descended on downtown LA armed with two-by-fours and baseball bats.”

Понятно абсолютно из контекста, что это полицейская дубинка. Мне важно как она выглядит, для этого иду в картинки Гугля и шарю там. Времени уходит уймища, но очень зримо – книжка оживает сразу.

Так что впереди у меня – часы и часы удовольствия!
